Hafsat AbiolaHafsat Abiola-Costello, Founder, Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND)

Hafsat Abiola is a human and civil rights campaigner. She is founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND) which seeks to strengthen civil society and promote democracy in Nigeria. She is the daughter of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, President Elect of Nigeria, who died in prison in 1998. In 2008 she founded China Africa Bridge (CAB), an organization that seeks to ensure that growing Sino-African ties benefit both sides. She leads this organization today. Abiola received the Youth Peace and Justice Award from the Cambridge Peace Commission in 1997, the State of the World Forum’s Change maker Award in 1998, and the World Economic Forum’s Global Leader of Tomorrow Award in 2000.
